F-ishikawa allow a team to identify, explore, and graphically display, in increasing detail, all of the possible causes related to a problem or condition to discover its root cause(s). 

 

 

Steps 

1. Select a diagram format, and get the template. 

 

2. Identify major bones

 

3. Generate possible causes through brainstorming sessions. 

Specify problem as detailed as possible. 

 

4. Place brainstorming outputs on the bones, classifying major reasons.
